Examples of Supported Products

In general, ExpandNow supports the sale of most physical goods and digital software/SaaS products so long as they are not restricted or prohibited by payment schemes, or regulated for export or import. Here are some examples of generally acceptable product categories:

• Downloadable software
• SaaS
• E-learning
• Consumer electronics
• Fashion
• Apparel and footwear
• Games, toys and hobby
• Housewares
• Home and garden

Prohibited Products

Below is a list of specific product types that are prohibited. There are also prohibited categories that are not specifically related to your product type. In general, you are not allowed to sell products via ExpandNow that:

• Violate card brand rules and regulations
• Violate any law or government regulation
• Exceed the chargeback thresholds allowed by card brands and payment service providers
• Risk reputational damage to ExpandNow or any card brand or payment service provider used by ExpandNow
• Include fraudulent, deceptive, unfair or predatory activities
• Promote, encourage, incite, celebrate or otherwise engage in violence, harassment or physical harm towards others based on race, ethnicity, color, religion, nationality, age, gender, sexual orientation, politics, disability or medical condition
• Are counterfeit or infringe upon (or enables the infringement of) copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets or legal terms of another party (e.g. unauthorized resale, streaming services, illegal downloads, software used to copy or reproduce content or media, IPTV, etc.)

The following Product types are prohibited:

• Adult and Prohibited Content
  • Adult and other age-restricted content and services including sexually-oriented or pornographic content of any kind, obscene materials, dating or escort services, matchmaking, mail-order spouse
• Certifications and preparation services
  • Essay and paper mills
  • Ghost writing services
  • Exam prep services
  • Any courses or certifications for which you are not the owner or creator of the underlying product or service
• Charities and donations
• Drugs / illicit substances
  • Alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, controlled substances or products that present a risk to consumer safety
  • Drug paraphernalia of any kind
  • Vaping products, CBD, THC
  • Psychoactive herbal products (e.g. fly amanita/agaric, kava kava, kratom, amyl nitrite inhalants, illegal peptides
• Dual-use technology or unfinished goods
  • Technologies considered to be dual-use that could be used in both civilian and military applications (e.g. microprocessor chips, night vision, thermal imaging, other similar technologies)
  • Unfinished goods may include components, sub-assemblies, semi-processed materials, etc. which may be considered dual-use
• Export controlled items
  • Any products or services that are subject to Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • Products or services requiring an export license or other approval from the United States DOC
  • Products that fall under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
• Financial products and services
  • Any payment service products and services including payment facilitation, aggregation or processing (e.g. bill pay services, peer to peer payments, wallets, etc.)
  • Virtual currency
  • Gifting
  • Lending services
  • Trading software or services
  • Traveler checks, money orders, or check cashing
  • Any e-wallet or e-money that can be monetized, re-sold or converted to physical or digital goods outside the virtual world
  • Crowdfunding
  • NFT and crypto-related products
• Fresh perishable food and drink
• Gambling
  • Betting-related products
  • Lotteries, auctions, contests, sweepstakes, event tickets or games based on chance
  • Fantasy sports
  • Sports projecting or odds making
• Hazardous materials
  • Hydrofluoric acid
  • Products containing cyanide
  • Prohibited ozone-depleting substances (ODS)
  • Peptides, research chemicals
  • Bacteria cultures or other products containing e-coli or escherichia coli
• Insurance
  • Any insurance or insurance-related services that would require registration or licensing with any supervisory authority
• Marketing products and services
  • Multi-level marketing businesses (MLM)
  • Get rich quick
  • Pyramid or ponzi schemes
  • Investment programs or seminars
  • Advertising in newsletters, on websites, or in social media posts
  • Membership clubs
  • Any product or service that uses deceptive marketing practices
• Medical / pseudo-medical
  • Medical or dental services, e-health, private medical practices, health practitioners
  • Medical devices
• Pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, or prescription drugs
  • Dietary supplements that are not FDA, DSHEA or DEA compliant
  • Psuedo pharmaceutical products (e.g. dietary products, anti-aging, sexual stimulants, diet and weight loss products, etc.)
  • Nutraceutical products that make health related claims
  • Illegal or prescription drugs, or any other controlled substances
• Marketplaces – where you and your brand use ExpandNow to sell another party’s product(s)
• Professional services (e.g. consulting services, advisory services, financial services, advice, coaching, etc.)
• Psuedo science related products or services (e.g. horoscopes, fortune-telling, clairvoyance, etc.)
• Regulated services including but not limited to; real estate, mortgage, lending, telemarketing, cellular/communication, door-to-door sales, bankruptcy, legal, merchant, debt-relief, collections, banking/financing, currency exchange, warranties, etc.
• Signal blockers or jammers(i.e. any device designed to block, jam or interfere with communication devices or signals)
• Tech support
  • PC and/or tech support sold via outbound telemarketing
• Telecommunications products or services subject to regulation and/or telcom taxes
• Travel and tickets
  • Airlines, cruises, taxi or any vehicle ride services, travel agencies, and tour operators
  • Concert, theater, event, etc. tickets
  • Timeshares
• Unauthorized use
  • Copyrighted or trademarked products where the brand is not the manufacturer or licensor
  • Digital Rights Management (DRM) removal tools
  • Video streaming downloaders
  • Spyware
  • Video games with ERSB rating of “AO” or unrated and games prohibited for sale in any jurisdiction
  • Any products or services related to social media activity (e.g. “click farms”)
• Weapons, explosives, firearms and ammunition
  • Guns or gun parts
  • Knives
  • Encryption devices and scrambling technologies
  • Any weapon accessories or paraphernalia (e.g. cases, cleaning kits, scopes, attachments, etc.)

In addition, ExpandNow does not support the sale of any products that are prohibited by card brand rules or our payment service provider partners.
